Queen have been livening up the rock ‘n’ roll scene for the past twenty years, dabbling in almost every musical creed, stretching versality to the limit .The sheer arrogance of the extraordinary creature called Freddie Mercury sums up Queen’s attack on two decades. Using himself as canvas, the eccentric troubadour has always painted himself in accordance with Queen’s moods. From sequinted stack-heeled Glam to chic crushed velvet, every costume tells a story. Glam, hard rock , pop, rap, jazz, even classical…Britain’s rock’ n’ roll chameleons have done it all.

Why did I choose QUEEN? Probably because I’ve been listening to Queen ‘s music since I was little. I remember that while I was playing with my dolls I was listening to them , but unfortunately I wasn’t able to understand their lyrics ; and now, I’m fascinated by them. Every single step in my life was guided by the mysterious effect they have over me . Solutions to any problem seem to be found more easily.

It’s much more easier for me to write about something I like. It becomes a pleasure to talk about my favourite band. In my opinion, culture and everything related to it represents the most important and significant part which can tell about a nation. The british people are very popular and interesting and to get to its deepest secrets first one has to know about their music.

Queen is one of the most important bands that has ever existed and which got Britain to a higher point. When talking about Queen you talk about the British people that loved their music and not only. Their mentality changed because of their Queen’s lirics and outrageous style. Freddie had the capacity to change a whole world and to bound people from different nationalities. Queen is the symbol of England, of monarchy, reign, beauty, richness, style and grace. Queen is a legend and its music will always be a part of us. Long live the Queen!

Queen have gone where no other band has gone before. Unique amongst their peers , they’ ve never been afraid to cross boundaries. Queen have broken down the barriers of age , class, nationality, even musical taste, reaping rewards and smashing records along the way

- ROGER TAYLOR

‘I was going to be a dentist once ,but that was just a way of getting to London and gaining a means of support from the student grant.Being a student was cool then’.

Not only is he a consumate drummer, but also a talented guitarist and singer and, to top it all, he is not a bad songwriter either-listening to the flip side of’Bohemian Rhapsody’…

Roger’s life before Queen was quite similar to the others .He studied Biology amongst other subjects, and played together with Brian in Smile but then along came Queen and the rest ,as they say, is history.

In 1981 Roger came out with his first solo album ‘Fun in Space ‘.It’s not a bad piece of work , but it was his 1981 release, ‘Strange Fronties’ that really established him as a solo artist. Roger was not content just to rock’n’roll in the studio and to put his ideas down on tape in some studio. He decided to take a band out and face the acid test-a club tour. He got together a band called ‘The Cross’ and hit the studio.

1987 saw ‘Shove it’ released and in 1989 ‘Mad , bad and dangerous to know’ came out to much acclaim.

- BRIAN MAY

Even though Brian May comes across as the shy retiring type he nevertheless is, alongside Roger Taylor, the mouthpiece of the band. Brian is well known as being one of the nicest people in the business to interview. He never refuses to answer a question or gives an evasive answer.

Brian May was born on the 19th July 1947 in Twickenham, a suburb in the south west of London. Before Brian was able to earn his living as he wanted ,as a musician ,he studied Astro-Physics and together with Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor he earned some money on the side selling clothes at the Kensington Gear Market. He’s well known as a perfectionist both in business and his private life. When none of the guitars in the shops were to his satisfaction he went home and built his own. It turned out to be such a perfect work of art that for years Queen albums carried the now famous and no one played synthesizer on the cover. For years many musicians disbelieved the claim or simply couldn’t come up with those sounds without using any fancy electronics.

Freddie Mercury is definitely the most flamboyand on stage ,but closely followed by Brian .Backstage the rest of the band like to be left in peace ,but Brian always invites in friends and fans to his dressing room even right up to the last minute before they go on. It’s the same when he comes off. He’ll have a shower, dry his hair and then the door is opened again. Brian is well known for the amount of time he spends talking to fans before and after a show and that he will never refuse anyone the chance of an autograph or picture.(His solo project was ‘Star fleet’ in 1981, together with Eddie Van Halen and others).

- JOHN DEACON

You want to talk major enigma in Queen, on a level even higher than the rather strange life style of Freddie Mercury?

Well, forget Brian May. He’s way out there occasionally, but a bit too high profile. And don’t even mention Roger Taylor. For the major enigma in Queen ,let’s talk John Deacon ,bass player, songwriter ,and occasionally businessman. He was the last member to join Queen .He was science student at Chelsea College when he heard of a three piece seeking a bass player. He got the job but insisted on seeing out the final six months of his degree course to earn a First Class Honours BSC in Electronics. Deacon plays little or no heed to Queen’s public face. It was notable that on the video for “Innuedo” you don’t actually see a clear image of John Deacon, just obscure, artly reflections.
