I. INTRODUCTION
The company that we chose for this project is S.C. ATHENAEUM CONSTRUCT S.A., an organization active on the Romanian constructions market.
The research for this paper was conducted through interviews with various company members and the sociologic method of structured observation, which took place at the company’s headquarters for a period of a week. We interviewed the quality manager and the production manager. We were also provided with various documents and presentation brochures of the company, in order to get familiarized with it.
The paper is structured as follows:
- An introductory part, where the company and the industry are presented.
- A chapter describing the company’s processes, its characteristics and the challenges it faces.
- An assessment of the strategic level.
- An assessment of the operational level.
- An analysis of the future of the company, including its growth strategy.
- Conclusions and recommendations / evaluation

S.C. ATHENAEUM CONSTRUCT S.A. is a private company, founded in 1993 in Bucharest, with a highly motivated managerial system, comprising of engineers, economists and qualified workers, all with a rich experience in the constructions field. The company has the following identification marks:
- It is registered at the Bucharest Register of Trade with the number J40/10900/1993 following ruling number 846/02.04.93 given by the 5th District Tribunal.
- It has the registration code RO 5602554 and registration certificate B1126115.
- It operates under CAEN code 4521.
- Fiscal Code R5602554.
- Treasury account number RO11TREZ7065069XXX000953 at the 6th district Treasury.
- It is certified in the quality management domain by the Romanian Society for Quality Assurance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2004, SA 8000:2001.

I.2 HISTORY AND FINANCIAL EVOLUTION
The company was started in 1993 by three visionary engineers with exclusively private, Romanian capital amounting around 10.000$. The businesses first possessions were a small rented house, a couple of office desks and a hand-full of enthusiast people. The initial associates took a huge risk in starting this business by leaving their steady jobs at state institutions and investing all the money they had saved up in an uncertain venture.
