- crossword puzzle photocopied first.
THE MOMENTS OF THE LESSON
I. ACTIVITY 1 (5’)
Aims: to draw the pupils’ attention
Interaction: T – S
Skills: speaking
Procedure:
- informal conversation: - greetings;
- “How are you?”
- “Who is on duty today?”
- “Who is absent today?”
- Warm up: short conversation between teacher and students:
E.g.: Teacher: “Where are you?”
Students: “We are in the classroom.”
Teacher: “What are the pieces of furniture in the classroom?”
Students: “There is a peg. We have desks. We have a teacher’s desk. We have two blackboards. We have lamps.”
Teacher: “Where is the peg? Where is the teacher’s desk? Where are the blackboards? Where are the lamps?”
Students: “The peg is in the back of the classroom. The teacher’s desk is in front. The blackboards are behind the teacher’s desk. The lamps are above us.”
II. HOMEWORK CHECKING (4’)
Aims: to involve the pupils in the activity
Interaction: T – S
Skills: reading
Procedure:
- Students read the homework.
- Students give as many answers as possible.
- The teacher corrects the possible errors (with the help of the students, where it is possible).
E. g.: Teacher: “What was your homework?”
Students: “We had to do exercise A, at page 16, from our Workbook.”
Teacher: “Who would like to read the homework?”
Students: “My room is above the living room. The bathroom is between my room and my parents’ room. My parents’ room is above the garage. My sister’s room is next to mine.”
