Marketing Research is "the process or set of processes that links the producers, customers, and end users to the marketer through information used to identify and define marketing opportunities and problems; generate, refine, and evaluate marketing actions; monitor marketing performance; and improve understanding of marketing as a process. Marketing Research specifies the information required to address these issues, designs the method for collecting information, manages and implements the data collection process, analyzes the results, and communicates the findings and their implications."

The informational technology has developed to a major level, and will never stop. People are blinded by screens. They use gadgets every day, every minute for work, communication, entertainment or just to save time. That’s why every mobile phone industry tries to make an ideal phone for simple cunsumers. What are the features you rely on when you are searching for a new phone? Some things like the memory, camera, display, its design or where it was assembled. I think it is important for everyone to get some characteristics about that new gadget, before to buy it. That’s why I decided to do this Marketing Research. There are thounsands of phones and each of them are different. Each of them are made for a special category of customer. There are phones with big displays, wonderful cameras, big capacites of memory, and so one. Also the price, one of the most important thing which the consumer is rely on when he wants to buy this gadget.

So, I chose Meizu MX 4, a product from Meizu Technology Co First of all, its a Chinese consumer electronics company based in Zhuhai, Guangdong. Meizu is the 11th largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. It has a variety of smartphones, and MP3s. Their products are smart and assembled well thought out.

Meizu opened their first branch office outside of China in Hong Kong in 2011. Later that year, they also opened a branch office in Russia. Its mobile phone products are divided into 4 categories: PRO series, MX series, M series and U series:

o The PRO series was introduced at the launch of the Meizu PRO 5 as a successor to the Meizu MX4 Pro. It represents Meizu's line of flagship devices for users seeking powerful devices with high performance.

o The MX series is a series of smartphones targeted for users wanting a device positioned between the general mid-range devices and top-of-the-line flagship devices.

o The M series is a series of smartphones targeted for users wanting an affordable and functional smartphone.

o The U series was silently launched through the official Meizu website without an actual launch event.

Because the most asked mobile phones are from brand ones, I am sure consumers are choosing them not because of their „quality” products, but beucause of their Name. For example there are a lot of users of the Apple products or the Samsung ones. So I want to find out:

- How old are you?

- What phone brand do you use ?

- What are the criteria for you (like a consumer) in choosing the phone?

- Does the price have a major role for you?

- How many mobile phone industries do you know?
