Global warming is the unusually
rapid increase in Earth’s average surface
temperature over the past centur
primarily due to the greenhouse gases
released because people burn fossil
fuels. The global average surface
temperature rose 0.6 to 0.9 degrees
Celsius (1.1 to 1.6° F) between 1906
and 2005, and the rate of temperature
increase has nearly doubled in the last 50
years. Temperatures are going up further.
Here, we can specify:
The Greenhouse Effect, the process by which absorption and emission of infrared radiation by gases in the atmosphere warm a planet`s lower atmosphere and surface.
The Volcanism, which contributes to increase the temperature through gases (especially CO2) contained by magma and volcanic ash that obturates solar radiation.
Human activity, which has increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, leading to increased radiative forcing from CO2, methane, tropospheric ozone and nitrous oxides.
We have here effects on:
* Atmosphere: the increase of
vaporization, rainfall and a lot
of storms;
* Lithosphere: the increase of ground
temperature , which produces forest
fires.
